چکیده

Reactive transport modeling has established itself as a key player to analyze sophisticated hydro-geochemical interactions that occur over spatiotemporal scales on par with subsurface applications. In this paper, we benchmarked new reactive package—porousMedia4Foam at the continuum scale considering complex and well-established cases available in community. porousMedia4Foam was born by successful coupling of two open-source packages—OpenFOAM® PHREEQC. The flow governing equations, species evolution porous media properties are handled OpenFOAM®, whereas geochemistry is exclusively We further demonstrated capability using investigate processes unstructured meshes. As an package included benefits account for occurring various scales—pore, hybrid, Darcy scales, believe opens dimension physics intriguing

DNA Nanotubes Coupled with Magnetic Nanoparticles as a Platform for Colorimetric Biosensors

This study describes the fabrication techniques for two forms of magnetic DNA nanotubes (MDNTs) and their applications as platforms for developing colorimetric assays. The first form of MDNTs was DNTs filled-up with magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and the second one was DNTs arayed with MNPs on their extrior surfaces. Then the both forms of MDNTs were employed as platforms for attaching a specifi...

Modeling of High Fluoride Groundwaters in India using PHREEQC

The development of conceptual geochemical models is enhanced by saturation index calculations that can identify the equilibrium state of minerals. Speciation modeling provides saturation indices that indicate reactions thermodynamically possible, minerals dissolving and precipitating in an aquifer system. In the present study, aqueous speciation modeling is carried out for the high fluoride gro...

Modeling of thermodynamically coupled reaction-transport systems

Nonisothermal reaction-diffusion systems control the behavior of many transport and rate processes in physical, chemical and biological systems, such as pattern formation and chemical pumps. Considerable work has been published on mathematically coupled nonlinear differential equations by neglecting thermodynamic coupling between a chemical reaction and transport processes of mass and heat. Thi...

Application of Flux Corrected Transport for Multicomponent Reactive Transport Modeling

Reactive transport describes the coupling among flow, transport and chemical reactions occurring in porous media; and therefore it is important in areas such as aquifer remediation, groundwater contamination, geochemical reaction modeling and CO2 sequestration. Due to the large time scales involved and/or the lack of accessibility to the subsurface, in most of these studies an adequate represen...

A three-dimensional analytical tool for modeling reactive transport.

In this note, we present a public domain analytical reactive transport modeling tool (ART3D, version 2.0). The tool is developed in FORTRAN and can be used for solving a system of a set of partial differential equations coupled with a first-order reaction network. ART3D uses a novel analytic solution technique proposed by Clement. The new software includes options for performing Monte Carlo sim...
